The summer months are expected to be busy ones for the car industry as a new Deloitte survey reveals that 1 in 10 consumers are looking to purchase a new vehicle over the next three months. Naturally this might not result in actual sales but it’s easy to see how the sector can be expecting a boost in activity.
On the corporate side, companies wishing to increase their workforce are also looking to extend their vehicle fleets to match. Whilst on the leisure side the reduced need to commute has some consumers swapping their everyday vehicles for more family cars and an unexpected savings build up from the pandemic is allowing many the means to upgrade.
The car market has changed since March 2020, with many dealerships including our own, offering the opportunity to buy online either completely or by way of deposits to reserve. This was led by a need to continue operating through the various lockdowns but it looks set to continue as consumers are more familiar with purchasing even higher ticketed options online.
It seems our priorities have changed too. A recent survey from a well known online car supermarket suggests fuel economy and performance are no longer the key factors in deciding on a vehicle. The average car buyer, the report concluded, is now more interested in a car’s dimensions and boot space with performance ranking 8th and fuel economy, often stated by manufacturers as a selling point, not featuring in the top ten.
Which car has the biggest boot space?
With these top factors in mind we’ve highlighted our most roomy Fords
There’s room for everything in the new Ford Focus, which uses every possible square millimetre to give you the most versatile Focus ever. It offers an adjustable load floor in the boot, which can be raised to give you a hidden storage compartment, or lowered to increase luggage space.
Ford Puma ST
Boot capacity is not compromised here either. The new Puma ST features a new MegaBox low loading compartment that not only offers 80 litres of storage space but also features a waterproof lining and drain plug making it easy to clean with water - perfect for all your adventure gear, muddy boots etc. A hands free tailgate access makes it easier to load too.
The Ford Kuga offers flexible, adaptive seating so you can adapt your leg room for your rear passengers and boot space depending on your trip. With the rear seats forward you can gain an extra 67 litres of boot space with an overall 1530 litres of load space and a towing capacity of 2100kg perfect for small and bigger family adventures.
