The New Ford Hybrid Transit Custom and Ford Ranger have been awarded International Van of the Year 2020 and International Pick-Up Award 2020 respectively. Ford is the first manufacturer to win both these awards in the same year two times!
A jury of 25 specialists from across Europe came together to praise the abilities of the Transit Custom. They hailed Ford’s Hybrid powertrains as a boost to businesses, allowing them to meet clean air targets so that they may enter low-emission zones. It does this by relying on its electric power alone, which allows drivers to travel 35 miles before requiring support from a petrol motor. After switching, the vehicle will use regenerative braking to recharge the electric battery. This both saves fuel and reduces their carbon footprint.
More praise was geared towards how the Transit operates without compromise, boosting its innovative technology and payload. Capable of transporting 1,000 kg worth of goods, the Transit keeps stock and drivers safe by using sensors to anticipate the vehicle’s surroundings.
Alongside the Transit, the panel highlighted the Ford Ranger’s enhanced performance and fuel efficiency. Hailing its advanced connectivity and driver assistance as a boost to productivity, something that can be seen throughout Ford’s new electric range. With advanced safety technology, the Ranger works to reduce the likelihood of an accident while also providing extra protection should one occur.
Perfect for the adventurer at heart, the Ranger is optimised for high-speed off-road driving and go-anywhere capability. And, with a ground clearance of 237mm and the ability to wade through water up to 800mm deep, there’s no need to cancel your plans should the weather change.
We can’t wait to get behind the wheel of all Fords upcoming electric Vehicles.
