Introducing Marketing Assistant, Jen Hyslop

By Pye Motors

Meet Jen, who has worked at Pye for nearly 10 years across a number of different roles.

When did you join the Pye family?
I joined Pye back in October 2013.

What was your first role at Pye, and the path to your current role?
I started at our Morecambe showroom as a part-time Receptionist, before moving into the Accounts department. This led me to a full time position before I moved into Marketing.

What does a typical day at work look like?
Pretty varied. The best thing about marketing is that you never know what’s coming next! There are some daily duties such as customer viewpoint returns to read and respond to, but mostly I liaise with the team generally to ‘find out what’s going on’! We live by the marketing plan, which covers our social posts, new vehicle launches, and promotions. I research content for the current blog topic which invariably means discussing the subject with customers and colleagues. Things are never quiet because I also help out with the switchboard - We’re one big team and there’s a job to do.

What do you most enjoy about your role at Pye?
The people here. My colleagues are great friends. Also, the variety. The nature of my job means that there is always something new and exciting on the horizon. I’m lucky as I get to be one of the first to hear about these things.

What are you most excited by within the business?
The way we engage with our customers has really changed over the past few years; since the start of the pandemic. There has been so much change, so quickly and it has made things really interesting in marketing. I’m learning more about how we can get relevant content to customers more effectively, allowing them to really benefit from our services.

Within your role what are you most proud about?
My progression. I was so pleased to get a full-time role, learn about accounts, and then progress to marketing.

What vehicle do you currently drive?
‘Pumba’ the Ford Puma, I absolutely love it - I upgraded from my Fiesta back in March this year.

What's in your boot?
In my boot I have a random variety of things, including my wellies and a lot of clothes. I keep meaning to take the clothes out but never get around to it, at least I’m prepared for every change in weather!

What would be your dream vehicle to drive?
I should really say Ford here but id love to drive and maybe one day own a Range Rover Evoque.
