If you receive a higher rate mobility allowance, find out how the Motability Scheme can help you get on the road to worry-free motoring.
The Motability Scheme offers those in receipt of a qualifying mobility allowance the opportunity to keep mobile by exchanging their allowance to lease a new car, wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), mobility scooter or powered wheelchair.
The Motability Scheme enables us to keep the 200 plus Pye customers who have joined the scheme on the road each year. Our friendly motability experts will skillfully guide you through the maze of advanced payments and adaptations, either in our showroom or as part of a home visit, helping make the process of choosing your brand new vehicle simple and stress free.
In addition to having a brand new car, there are many other benefits to choosing from our Motability range.
If you don't find the answer you're looking for, one of our Motability experts will check to see if you are eligible to apply
Firstly you need to be in receipt of one of the following benefits and have at least 12 months of your award remaining.
Our motability experts can then take you through choosing your vehicle with your personal allowance in mind and advise on any possible extra payments given your selection. Once we’ve finalised any adaptations you may need we can then determine a proposed delivery date for you.
If you are a relative or carer to someone who claims one of the allowances (recognised by the DWP as an appointee), you can apply on their behalf. The only condition is that the car is used for the benefit of the disabled person. This can involve travelling in the vehicle or a driver running errands for the disabled person.
Even if you do not drive, you can still obtain a vehicle and choose up to three people to drive for you. If you are a parent or carer to a child who receives the allowance, you can also apply. Remember the scheme includes free insurance cover for up to three named drivers.
If you don't find the answer you're looking for, one of our Motability experts will be happy to advise you on all aspects of the process.
When accepted onto the programme, you assign all or part of your allowance to Motability Operations, the company that runs the Motability car scheme. This is for the duration of the Contract Hire or Hire Purchase agreement for your new car.
This takes place under direct transfer arrangements agreed between Motability and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Once the application is processed, you will receive a letter of confirmation.
Your personal Pye Motability Adviser will be on hand throughout the process to answer any questions.
If you have trouble getting in and out of your vehicle, find the steering heavy or the controls difficult to operate then, rest assured, you are not alone. These are some of the most common problems our Motability customers experience. We work with local specialists who can offer solutions to these and many other challenges.
With the right adaptation, we can ensure you keep your independence and make your day-to-day motoring as hassle-free and enjoyable as possible.
Your choice of car is not limited to our entry-level vehicles, we can ensure you don't sacrifice style, performance, and the latest technology. Should you choose a vehicle that is over your allowance for the leasing period then the difference will be assigned as an advance payment which will be paid when you pick up your car. Our dedicated motability vehicle search page indicates what potential advance payments may be due so you can gauge the full cost of the car as you browse.
Our Pye Motability experts can take you through the options, what your allowance includes, and confirm any contributions you would have to make to ensure you can drive the vehicle you want.
Delivery times can vary depending on the type of vehicle you have ordered and the modifications required. The Pye team will be able to advise an estimated delivery time when you have chosen your preferred option, and will keep you updated as your order progresses.
Please Note : If you already have a vehicle as part of the Motability Car scheme, your current lease agreement needs to have expired before you can collect your new car.
