Each year, the Morecambe Car Club selects a special theme for its Illuminations Tour:

  • 2022: “Platinum Jubilee” – Celebrating both the Club’s and the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilees.
  • 2023: “Coronation Special” – Marking the coronation of King Charles III.
  • 2024: “Northern Lights” – Honouring the achievements of rally crews from the North who have, over the decades, lit up the Illuminations Rally and many other events.

This year, we are delighted to celebrate the Centenary of Pye Motors. Since the formation of the Morecambe Car Club in 1952, this family-run firm has been an enthusiastic supporter of our activities. Our 2025 theme, therefore, is “The Pye 100.”

The event will take place on Saturday, 14th June. As with the previous three tours, it will start and finish at the Morecambe Car Club HQ, the Red Well Inn.

The day will begin with morning refreshments—tea or coffee and a breakfast bun—before the first car departs at 09:01. With good luck and a following wind, participants can expect to return for food and festivities from around 16:30.

While the route is yet to be finalised, the plan is for it to cover approximately 145 miles, with optional tea/coffee and lunch stops along the way.

The tour is open to ALL [Morecambe CC members and non-members] and whilst we would love you to bring a rally car or a classic, that is not essential. Provided it road legal, whatever motorised transport you arrive in, you can drive in. Full instructions will be provided on the day.

Join us to enjoy a nostalgic trip through glorious countryside of the Lake District down those memorable lanes, in the company of your fellow “Centurions.”

The entry fee for the 2025 “Pye 100” is £60 for a crew of two (driver and navigator), which includes commemorative car rally plates, roadbook and all mapping, breakfast roll, tea/coffee at the start and a meal at the finish. The fee for additional passengers is £30 per person.
