We’re all well aware of the upcoming changes in Road Tax this April, but something that may have gone under the radar are the latest Number Plates which have just been released.
We all know that number plates change, but why exactly is this? In 2001, the DVLA changed their number plate system, so our plates are able to share more about the car. The first 2 letters to a number plate identify the area code, the second 2 identify the age and the last 3 letters are randomly generated. From March to August each year, the age identifier appears as the last 2 digits of the current year, whereas from September to February, a 5 is added to the first number.
What does this mean? This means that from the 1st of March, the latest ‘17 Registration Plates’ have been available, although come the 1st of September it changes again to ‘67’.
If you’re in the market for a new car, we have a fantastic range of new vehicles to proudly display your new number plate on, including the practical and compact Ford KA PLUS, the mighty Ford RANGER and more…
One of our favourites and most recent ranges of vehicles from Ford is the Vignale range, unique to Ford. Our Vignale range of vehicles include the latest Ford Mondeo, S-Max, Edge and Kuga all meticulously finished to perfection.
