The mornings are darker, evenings cooler and extra jumpers are out… yep, Winter’s rolling in. It’s incredibly important to make sure your vehicle is in tip top shape and ready to take on the Winter months.
Here’s our 5 easy tips to get Winter ready -
1. Check your oil
Oil tends to thicken as it gets colder, and if it’s too thick it won’t do the best job of keeping your engine lubricated. Check your oil and stay safe.
2. Enough grip?
You should check your tyres all year around but it’s particularly important to check them in the run up to Winter. Check the air pressure and consider switching to Winter tyres.
3. Make sure you can see?
When was the last time you changed your windscreen wipers? You should change your blades once a year… if it’s been a while, make sure you get them changed now and you’re ready for whatever weather comes our way.
4. Check your battery
This is an ideal time of year to make sure your battery is in tip top condition. Many Winter breakdowns are caused by battery failures as low temperatures will have a direct effect on your battery's capability.
5. Prepare an emergency kit
There’s no harm in being prepared, especially if you’re planning any long road trips in the coming months. Pack essential items in your vehicle in case of a break down. A blanket, torch and extra warm clothing are great examples of welcomed items if you’ve broken down in the cold!
