This is quite exciting - Pye Motors is now a proud sponsor of the Walney Terriers!
In order to celebrate this new and fantastic partnership, we’ve made a video. But not just any video... We’ve attempted to find out how many American football players you can fit in a KA+! How many do you think we can fit in? Place your bets and then check out the video on our Facebook page here.
As a local business, we’re proud to support local sports and we’re delighted with this new partnership with the Walney Terriers. You might not know this, but American football in South Cumbria actually touched down way back in the late 80s, with the Barrow-based Furness Phantoms. They competed for four years before merging with the North Cumbria Carlisle Kestrels to create the Cumbria Cougars. The Cumbrian team ran for several years, but ceased to exist after being beat by the Duchy Destroyers 31-19 in an early 90s Lower Premier Championship, known at the time as the Brit Bowl. South Cumbria then wouldn’t see another American Football team for 21 years - fast forward to November 2011 and the Walney Terriers are formed.
*No football players were harmed in the making of this video - we promise.
