We all know how annoying Pot Holes can be but did you know they can actually do real damage to your tyres, steering and suspension?
National Pot Hole day, first introduced in 2015, is promoted by Street Repairs, an organisation passionate about keeping local environments attractive and safe. There are a lot of potential dangers associated with potholes, so raising awareness nationally is great way to make sure people stay safe in their cars.
Nick Payne, MD of Pye Motors says: “Road surfaces have suffered due to the recent storms and flooding resulting in an increased amount of pot-holes around our counties. Modern cars tend to be fitted with large diameter wheels and low profile tyres which are more susceptible to damage from driving through them. Damage caused from pot holes can vary from a simple punctures to torn tyre side walls, damaged wheel rims and damage in the drive train and suspension which is difficult to see without having a car on a workshop ramp.”
We thought this was a great event to get involved in as we care so much about the safety of our customers…so much so in fact that we thought we would extend it to National Pot Hole week! During this week we are offering customers complimentary tyre checks and visual steering and suspension through the Ford eCheck process, from 14th – 22nd January 2016. As pot holes don’t discriminate and can affect any brand or age of car, we are offering this on all vehicles, not just Fords..!
