£750 Cost of Motoring Contribution

Motability are offering all exisitng and new to scheme customers a £750 advance payment contribution. You can choose to use this towards your advance payment or receive the bonus after you have collected your new vehicle.

What if my advance payment is less than £750? Don't worry your advance payment will be covered and you'll recieve the difference.

Firstly you need to be in receipt of one of the following benefits and have at least 12 months of your award remaining.

  • The enhanced rate of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Higher rate of Motability component of the disabled living allowance (DLA)
  • The Armed Forces Independence payment (AFIP)
  • A War Pensioners mobility supplement (WPMS)

Our Motability specialists can then take you through choosing your vehicle with your personal allowance in mind and advise on any possible extra payments given your selection. Once we’ve finalised any adaptations you may need we can then determine a proposed delivery date for you.

Parent or carer?

If you are a relative or carer to someone who claims one of the allowances (recognised by the DWP as an appointee), you can apply on their behalf. The only condition is that the car is used for the benefit of the disabled person. This can involve travelling in the vehicle or a driver running errands for the disabled person.

Don't drive?

Even if you do not drive, you can still obtain a vehicle and choose up to three people to drive for you. If you are a parent or carer to a child who receives the allowance, you can also apply. Remember the scheme includes free insurance cover for up to three named drivers.

How does Motability work?

When accepted onto the programme, you assign all or part of your allowance to Motability Operations, the company that runs the Motability car scheme. This is for the duration of the Contract Hire or Hire Purchase agreement for your new car.

This takes place under direct transfer arrangements agreed between Motability and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Once the application is processed, you will receive a letter of confirmation.

Your personal Pye Motability Adviser will be on hand throughout the process to answer any questions.

Specifying modifications

If you have trouble getting in and out of your vehicle, find the steering heavy or the controls difficult to operate then, rest assured, you are not alone. These are some of the most common problems our Motability customers experience. We work with local specialists who can offer solutions to these and many other challenges.

With the right adaptation, we can ensure you keep your independence and make your day-to-day motoring as hassle-free and enjoyable as possible.
