Here at Pye Motors we also supply the Iveco Daily Range of commercial vehicles. The Iveco Daily is the Mike Tyson of the van world, noticeably stronger and tougher than the opposition. Sitting on a ladder frame chassis, the Daily is a big truck scaled down rather than a smaller van scaled up. Gross vehicle weights range from 2.8 tonnes right up to 6.5 tonnes. Models come in L, S and C classes – L for 2.8-3.2 tonners, S for 3.5 tonners and C for 3.5-6.5 tonners. The Daily is the best protected van on the roads with its massive side rubbing strips and plastic bumpers front and aft, so annoying little scrapes should be few and far between. The Iveco Daily has been available in the UK for many years and there are literally hundreds of different permutations to choose from. It is also the market leader in many European markets.
Power for the Daily comes from the Unijet family of engines which goes from 96 to 146 horse power and these bits of kit are completely state of the art and are very, very quiet. The big power option, namely the 146 hp variant, benefits from HPT (High Performance Turbine) technology which in its very basic terms is a variable geometry turbocharger. Through its ingenious design, the HPT options eliminate any delay when you put your foot down. Another feature that is consistent with the Daily is that every model is rear wheel drive, although it can lead to loading heights being a bit higher than comparable front wheel drive models. Power steering is great and the turning circle is to die for! Drivers should have no fears about taking the Daily into the narrowest housing estates and not need to worry about getting it out. |
