Keeping you on the road

We believe that choosing a brand new car through the Motability Contract Hire Scheme should be simple and stress free. That's why over 200 Motability customers each year choose Pye to supply their brand new vehicle. Our skilled and professional Motability staff will advise you on the Motability process and, if it's easier, we can even arrange home visits.

Once you have taken delivery of your new car, your personal Pye Motability adviser will continue to make sure you are booked in for regular servicing, and will always be on hand to advise on additional features, maintenance or any questions you might have.

Eligibility requirements

If you don't find the answer you're looking for, one of our Motability experts will check to see if you are eligible to apply.

Do I qualify?

If you receive either: the Higher Rate mobility component of the disabled living allowance or a War Pensioners allowance, then the answer is yes, you qualify for Motability. The only condition is that you have at least 12 months award remaining. There are no credit checks or other restrictions.

Parent or carer?

If you are a relative or carer to someone who claims the allowance (recognised by the DWP as an appointee), you can apply on their behalf. The only condition is that the car is used for the benefit of the disabled person. This can involve travelling in the vehicle or a driver running errands for the disabled person.

I don't drive

Even if you do not drive, you can still obtain a vehicle and choose up to two other people to drive for you. If you are a parent or carer to a child who receives the allowance, you can also apply.

The process

How it works

When accepted onto the right scheme for you, you assign all or part of your allowance to Motability Operations for the period of the Contract Hire or Hire Purchase agreement.

This takes place under direct transfer arrangements agreed between Motability and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Once the application is processed, you will receive a letter of confirmation.

Your personal Pye Motability Adviser will be on hand throughout the process to answer any questions and help you avoid any pitfalls.

If you have trouble getting in and out of your vehicle, find the steering heavy or the controls difficult to operate then, rest assured, you are not alone. These are some of the most common problems our Motability customers experience and we are able to offer solutions to these and many other problems.

With the right adaptation, we can ensure you keep your independence and make your day-to-day motoring so much more enjoyable.
